Bernadette and Jen

Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara on February 28, 1948) was an American actress singer and writer of children's books from Ozone Park Queens New York . In a five-decade career her appearances have been in television and musicals and also in solo performances and recorded albums. She's won seven Tony Awards nominations, two that she took home as well as eight Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards were won for four Broadway casting albums, where she was a part of the cast. Peters began her stage career as a kid, then at the age of a teenager in 1960s. Later in the 70s, she began acting in films and TV. The public praised her for this first work, as well as her performances as a character on The Muppet Show The Carol Burnett Show and other productions on television, as well as for her performances in films such as Silent Movie The Jerk Pennies from Heaven and Annie. In the 80s the actress returned to Broadway where for three decades she was among Broadway's biggest stars.
