Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara on February 28, 1948) is an American actor, singer, and writer of children's books born in Ozone Park Queens New York . Her professional career spans over five decades and includes musical theatre, television concert performances, solo shows, as well as recording. Her name is one of the most well-known artists. She was nominated to win seven Tony Awards (winning two), she also won the award of eight Drama Desk Awards. Peters has been awarded Grammy Awards for four of her Broadway cast albums.
